Not quite as glamorous as its namesake in Montpellier, this large square is nevertheless popular with the locals and an excellent place to people watch. Concerts and flashmobs are regular occurrences. You can catch popular sporting events here – they’re projected on giant screens. A number of cool looking buildings surround the place, and also a couple of shopping centres. It’s depressing when there’s no crowd though.
