This is one of the best garden parks you’ll ever see. Built into Rennes’ highest hill, it’s not very large – only about ten hectares – but even so, it has a great wealth of plants. The park gets its name from Mt. Tabor in Israel, the place where Christians believe Jesus was transfigured. Exotic trees, fountains, circular pathways, rose gardens, French gardens, English gardens, greenhouses, aviaries, orangeries, a botanical garden, statues, mosaicultures, waterfalls, playgrounds… there is nothing that you could ask of a park, that this park doesn’t deliver.

People come here to picnic, jog, dog-walk or just to read. It’s worth coming to Rennes just for this garden.

  • There is a restaurant on the north side of the park; it is not cheap, but it’s very good.
  • There are multiple entrances into the park; for example from Place St Melaine.

  • My family spent a whole afternoon here, looking through the gardens. My younger sisters were very happy watching all the birds in the various enclosures for a long time, and we all loved the beautiful scenery. These gardens are very well kept and good for families, however for the most part you are not allowed on the grass. There is also a playground intended for younger children that seems very well equipped

  • Excellent place to spend an afternoon with family and friends. The garden is maintained beautifully in it french style, include a birds garden where species from different parts of world are to be admired, and has an excellent walk path, with various types of plants and trees. The waterfall path is a delight to see.

  • Very beautiful and relaxing place to go on a weekend.. they have fountains, so many different horticultural gardens, a variety of flowers. People who loves nature, definitely going to enjoy it. They can just lay on the grass and feel it's beauty

  • Bon parc au centre de la ville

  • The parc du Thabor is a parc not to be missed when coming in Rennes. The visit of the parc is very nice and it lies besides some nice building of a university. The parc has a bit of everything, plants along with their names, beautiful flowers, small waterfalls, a lot of little fountains , as well as there are the emojis we use recreated by using flowers which are very interesting. The visit in this parc is worth it.
