Standing tall since 1910, Reno’s first courthouse is a renowned for the number of divorces that have taken inside this beautiful Classical Revival building. While you can’t really control what happens inside the courthouse, you can surely admire the architecture of this structure. The building has exquisite stone work influence by Beaux Arts architecture. There is intricate terra cotta detailing that adds in to the charm of the structure. The dome on the roof is made of copper and the ribs come down in artfully crafted brackets. There is also a stunning stained glass right below the dome, which will leave you completely awestruck.

Washoe County Courthouse Reviews & Ratings
how can we get information from you guys over the phone when you guys never pick up the phone its not like its your job
This place is not just shameful, it's a disgrace. Judge Steinheimer is lazy and inept to the point of not just being unethical, but potentially corrupt. It's despicable to see judges abusing their authority without any explanation justifying their improper decisions, but this sort of behavior is rampant because there is no accountability. The best we can do is fight with every breath against these rotten people and hope the higher courts do their job of rendering justice.
I’m not one to post any reviews, however I feel I have to post a review to express how poorly the girls treat the people that go in there. I understand there has to be a certain level of professionalism as well as them distancing themselves from people and their cases, but these people are the absolute worst! I went in being nothing but nice and polite, as I understand their jobs are difficult especially with some of the day to day people they encounter, and they were absolutely rude and acted like every little thing I asked was an inconvenience for them. Horrible horrible experience for an already intimidating process!
It's court... They may have the reputation of ahhhhh, scary! but they are there to help and they are all quite professional. I believe that every officer of the court or official I have encountered here is quite knowledgeable and has had my best interest in mind. The building itself is historic and something to look at in it's own regard. Just don't let all the shiny stars throw you off, They are all just people like you and me
Lack of judicial training, oversight and unchecked bias run rampant in this place. A judge was recently thrown off the bench, but he's not the only inept jurist. Even their senior judges are a far stretch from professional. Honestly, if you want to commit all kinds of heinous crimes, this city is the place to do it; the court system, particularly the family court system, just doesn't care enough to do anything constructive. I've worked in child protection for about 15 years, and I can honestly say this misbegotten court is a circus, not a justice system.
