Promoting holistic healing, the Krauma offers the best of both worlds- icy cold glacial water and soothing hot spring baths. Visitors love to take a quick dip in the cold water to get your circulation going before they enter the pampering natural geothermal baths.
The hot water at Krauma is sourced from Deildartunguhver- a natural geothermal reservoir that oozes 180 litres of boiling water every second. Since water directly sourced from Deildartunguhver can cause serious burns, it is mixed with cold, glacial water from Rauðsgil before filling the baths. The place also has 2 saunas and a relaxation room where you can hang out and kick back while listening to some music. The place also has an outdoor shower area.
The moment you walk in, the first thing you notice is the hot water steam that clouds the entire bath section. The stark black building with modern design is quiet a juxtaposed view to the natural terrain all around but if you love urban spaces, you will like the design and layout of the place. The steam baths are steamed with hot spring water sprayed under timber benches and with scented oils that fill the entire room with their exquisite aroma, a visit here is perfect to ease stress and relax those sore muscles. The hot baths are loved for the stunning view of the mountains and are recommended to people who are looking for a good place to unwind after a long day of sightseeing.

Krauma Reviews & Ratings
Very nice geothermal baths. Different temperatures, relax area and steam baths. Great view from the pools. Worth spending 1-2 hours when taking a break from driving. The place was not crowded at all when we were there.
We loved this place! My mother who has trouble walking barefoot on some spa surfaces, found the padded walking quite doable. Loved the steam and cold bath....and the quite relaxing atmosphere
Always stop here for coffee (or other things) when travelling the area! Really good place and it's soo nice sitting in the outdoor area when the sun is shining. The place is a must to stop at :) (remember to buy the homemade ice cream made locally)
Very clean and well established hot springs. Locker rooms are clean and spacious. Pools are spaced out with great views.
I was a stressed-out mess of a person before bathing in the beautiful hot spring tubs at Krauma. Do yourself a favor and enjoy a soak. You deserve it.
