Great hotel, but so-so shower. Quiet, great breakfast buffet, nice happy hour at the bar, free parking. Would definitely stay again.
Fosshotel is a hotel chain with a dozen or more hotels all around Iceland. They are all up to modern days standard, and several of them are built new from flat ground within the last decade or so. Staff is very helpfull, and the hotel bar at the Baron is quite nice. Baron is missing the fifth star because rooms are a bit tiny and without personality, and because it is actually too much up to date to have any nooks and crannys to explore, which may actually be the fifth star to some users. - Very recommendable nonetheless.
Small room, but warm, clean and tidy with everything we needed—toilet, shower (with Reykjavik's signature hot water), kettle, TV. Also unfortunately had a vertical beam in the centre of the room, which I walked into in the middle of the night.
Great hotel in a prime location for walking in the city. Breakfast included is high quality. Beers are 1000 k which is reasonable for Reykjavik. Parking included. Rooms are comfortable. Would stay here again.
Basic but clean and great service and good location.
