Fosshotel Baron, Reykjavik Reviews - Write a Review

  • Very much enjoyed our stay. Simple rooms was all that was required as we were busy all day every day! The breakfast had a vast selection of hot and cold foods. Happy hour with wine and beer was a nice touch. The staff were all very helpful and friendly.

  • The room was very small with minimal furniture and no wash cloth in the bathroom. Other than that everything else was great. The staff were warm, friendly and very helpful. Free breakfast daily helped to offset the cost of food. We were able to get into our room before 11am even though Check in is at 2pm or 3pm.

  • Three stars hotel with 1-2 stars rating. Friendly staff and decent breakfast buffet but that is standard across Iceland. We requested double bed and even had two e-mail confirmations but was given a room with two twins. Had to swap rooms afterwards and they couldn't get us a regular room. Moving luggage up and down was just a headache. Hotel is due for renovation, old carpets and paint and furniture. Rooms are small, shower is tiny horrible! Shower drain was blocked and required numerous calls to get it fixed.

  • Clean hotel, friendly and welcoming staff. Good selection of food for breakfast. Room well equipped. Plenty of electricity sockets, TV, WiFi, hairdryer, kettle and room safe.

  • DO NOT GO HERE!! We got this hotel as part of a groupon and it will be the last time we stay here. Iceland is amazing. This hotel is not. I slipped and fell because of a faulty cabinet that broke, proceeding to hit my head on the wall. I did the right thing by immediately telling them about it. They never even had my card on file. They talked me into leaving my card number, assuring me that they would be in contact about a “possible, but unlikely” charge. I get a charge on my card for $400 a week after being home with no contact. This a very good case of no good deed goes unpunished. There are much better hotels and AirBnB’s in the area. Stay away from this one.
