Geysir, Reykjavik Reviews
So beautiful. One of our favorite spots on our self-guided Golden Circle tour. The large geyser erupts every 5 to 8 minutes and is easy to get photos of. The other pools are beautiful and have a lovely sulfur aroma.
I was not impressed by this but would still recommend going to see it (if you have extra time). I was there for about 20 minutes and the Geysir never got bigger than a bubble. There were a ton of people here! The parking lots were full, the walkways were full, and couldn't leave because the crosswalks were always full. I would maybe see this in winter. From others photos it looks less busy and more impressive during that time of year.
Stunning natural wonder and amazing sight. A number of geysers are in this area. The biggest one erupts every 5 to 10 minutes with cheers from the crowd standing around it. There is a hill beside those geysers. Visitors can climb on to the top of the hill for a grand view of this breathtaking mystic area.
I loved this place. Worth the trip to Iceland on its own. The geysers are very impressive and the area has good restaurants, shops and other facilities.
The namesake of all geysers is currently in a semi-dormant phase, but its neighbor Strokkur erupts every 5-7 minutes! If you haven't seen a geyser before, this is truly an incredible sight!
