Iceland’s second largest mall is viewed with some mild hostility by local retailers who complain that it is stealing away all the local business. That said, it does offer a terrific shopping experience, with 170 stores, a cinema, a theatre, a pub, multiple themes restaurants and even banks. There’s a food court too. Don’t want to drag and manage your kids everywhere as you shop? Drop them off at the Land of Adventure play area. It’s an excellent place to spend your day if the weather isn’t being nice, or if you just need to take a break from all the touring but don’t want to spend the day in your hotel room. The mall is so popular with locals it has become something of a pop culture meme.
