The Nautholsvík beach was opened in 2000 and is a popular beach destination in Iceland. The place consists of a vast lagoon and 2 hot tubs; geothermal water from Reykjavik Energy is forced into these 2 tubs and the sea as well. A part of the bay is open and is allowed to mix with the warm water – who would not want to dip into that?

The beach is conveniently structured with changing facility with locker services, a small cafe for beverages and snacks. One of the hot tub is located in front of the service centre, the temperature there is 38 degree Celsius while the second is in the lagoon with the temperature of 25-30 degree Celsius.

You can visit the beach anytime of the day; however the warm water and other services are present only during specific time. The beach is an ideal recreational centre for the young and the old alike. The beach is generally filled with visitors who are unwinding in one of the hot tubs, taking a stroll or kids running around – one thing common among all of them is the happiness after visiting this little paradise of Iceland!

• Smoking is prohibited.
• Consumption of alcohol is prohibited.
• Dogs are not allowed on the beach.
• Wheelchair accessible.
• Saltwater lagoon is only heated during summer months.

In summer:

• Access to the showers and bath: free of charge

In winter (1st January to 15th May):

• Single-time: 600ISK
• Rental of towels: 600 ISK
• Rental swimwear: 300 ISK 

• To rent a towel 200 ISK; To store your clothes 200 ISK.

• By hired car
