Skogafoss Waterfall - Review
Skógafoss Waterfalls are one of the biggest and most beautiful waterfalls of Iceland. The Skógafoss Waterfalls are 60 metres in height and 25 metres wide and are situated on the Skógá River. On a sunny day, the spray from the waterfall creates a beautiful double rainbow. TO get close to the waterfalls, visitors are required to climb up metal stairs. There are hiking and trekking trails located at the eastern side of the waterfall that lead up to Fimmvörðuháls, a pass between the glaciers Eyjafjallajökull and Mýrdalsjökull. These waterfalls have been used as filming locations for many movies and music videos.

Skogafoss Waterfall, Reykjavik Reviews
I've given a lot of 5 stars when it comes to my travels through Iceland, but that's because most every stop was unforgettable. Skógafoss Waterfall is no exception. This was the first waterfall seen on the trip. I would suggest hiking up the stairs first to the top of the waterfall before enjoying the base, which you can walk right up to. Even on a cloudy day the view is spectacular. I wish we had had more time there as I would have loved to explore more of the top of the waterfall, and spent more time at it's base. There was so much to see that day...guess I'll just have to go back there. :)
another well known waterfall that is a must see. very touristy but still recommend to go see. i strongly advise to go up the stairs all the way to the top as the view on the top is out of this world. completely different to what it looks like at the bottom of the waterfall. more scenic landscape for picture points! walk further down and you will see mini river streams and waterfalls along the way. it is steep hike so be prepared to feel those lactic acid building up in them muscles.at the top there's a viewing point right next to the waterfall which you can see through to the floor. makes the hike up rewarding!
My 2nd favorite falls of Iceland. You can climb up to the top of the waterfalls. It's a great workout! Totally worth it as well. The trek up to the top is a must-do. Pictures don't do it justice. Being at the bottom and the top of the falls, it's just truly an experience. Parking is easy and you can camp near this falls as well.
Beautiful! A must see if visiting Iceland. We took a bus tour with grayline and this was one of the stops. The walk up is pretty easy if your of average fitness. You can get really close to the bottom but common sense is needed, it is so powerful it would be very dangerous to go to close. It is a beautiful site and a real joy to visit.
Amazing waterfall. Beautiful to see such a powerful force of water up close. The real gem of this waterfall is the hike beside it. The hike takes you beside the river, showcasing several magnificent waterfalls. Beware, the total length of the hike is 25km! So make sure not to try to finish it (unless you're prepared).
