Thrihnukagigur Volcano, Reykjavik Reviews
The only reason this is 4 Stars is because of the price. About $380 for this excursion. Getting past the high price, the experience was awesome! The guides were super friendly and happy. They told us about the volcano and were quite knowledgeable. Just being inside a volcano was so cool! If you can afford it, I would recommend it. The hike was fairly flat and easy. Be sure to bring or buy rain pants before going to Iceland in general, you’ll likely need them on this hike to the volcano. Great time though and good Icelandic meat soup upon return. 👍🏻👍🏻
The tour guides are very knowledgeable. The hike is wonderful. You go inside the volcano in small groups and have enough time to spend inside. The volcano itself is amazing with different colours and it is definitely a must see. They also have a vegetarian soup at the base camp, which was wonderful.
If you went to Iceland and did not do this - it was a big mistake. This is a must see and well worth the money. Professionly run - you will not be disappointed.
This is the only place known where the core of a volcano is accessible. The hike is moderate but fast paced.
Go go go. Dont worry about the price, the small hike, or the weather. Getting inside the volcano was the best way to open our trip to Iceland. Staff are fantastic and energetic. Gave us tips for the ring road and had a good laugh with them and the rest of our group. Make sure to pack warm and rain proof top and bottom. They serve lamb and vege soup at the end so warm up.
