Palace Of The Grand Master Of The Knights Of Rhodes - Review
This lovely piece of Architecture in Rhodes is sure to transport you back into the Middle Ages, or teleport you into a Disney Film, whichever you prefer. The typically medieval structure is a delight to see. The rounded towers with their jagged balconies are simply lovely.
The entrance itself is grand and imposing. Built by the Knights of Rhodes, the castle speaks volumes about Rhodes’ medieval history. But the piece de resistance of the castle are the stunning mosaics. Thalia, Poseidon and many mythological figures can be seen in their mosaic forms in this lovely castle. There is a lot of history to be explored in Rhodes and this is the perfect place to do it.

Palace Of The Grand Master Of The Knights Of Rhodes, Rhodes Reviews
Located in Rhodes Old Town, The Palace of the Grand Master is a great place to visit. It's picturesque, steeped in history and its setting couldn't be more complimentary. Rhodes Old Town is also a UNESCO World Heritage site: one of two on Rhodes. When I visited, there was an exhibition on the ground floor. No cameras or video equipment allowed for this. Toilets are located within the courtyard for public use. There are also vending machines for cold drinks if you are thirsty. Cost is €6 per ticket, but you can buy one for €10 which gives you access to other museums. Some people I've spoken to suggested about an hour to view The Palace, but I was there for closer to 2 hours - only because I liked what I saw. Well worth a visit. Lots of cafe's around the area for something cool to drink, or a coffee.
Huge palace full of history. It is incredibly large and beautiful, with high ceilings and original furniture and art throughout. I found it pretty lacking in historical information compared to other museums in Greece, but there was a lot to see in any case. The best part of the tour was walking outside the Palace walls down to the exterior medieval walls that empty out a portico into the main street near the harbor.
Absolutely amazing place to visit. Everything is signposted so well. You know where you going at any moment. The guides are very nice and knowledgeable, but a bit bored because visitors are not asking enough questions to keep them occupied. Vending machines and toilets also available. You just can’t ask for more for €6.00 👍🇬🇷☀️
To be honest, I expected a bit more. 2 floors of almost nothing but few wooden chests and chairs, several ceramic plates and few paintings. The best part is practically for free (towers from outside). Nice mosaic floor though, but not worth of spending 6 euros. I rather recommend old city walls tour for 2 euros.
In Rhodes Old Town. The Old Town is one of the best preserved medieval towns in the world. It is delightful and beautiful. The Knights of Rhodes used to have their palaces here. The palace of the grand master is massive and well worth a visit. Nice breezes even on very hot days. Nice cafes and restaurants all around. Well worth the time and effort to visit.
