The very castle got established in the year 1330 following classical architecture. In the year 2013, a massive fire broke into this castle. Riga Castle Reviews & Ratings

  • A valuable part of Latvia culture and political history. A beautiful location to visit and chill around. Just behind is the Riverside with a amazing view of the bridge.

  • If you are lucky enough to visit the inside of the Riga Castle on that one special day of the year (for 2019 it was May 18) you're in for a treat! There are performances throughout the night and you get to see the beautiful interior of the president's home! You can see where foreign visitors are greeted and where they hold large events. Don't miss it if you happen to be in town on that day!

  • A very nice building and such a pity that we could not sneak in to take a look around. To my mind we got the best view of the place from the bridge at the side (decent photo spots). The guards are reasonably attentive hence not really possble to get too close, but once that they know that you are s tourist they seem happy enough with you taking pictures of them. The building itself looks slightly better from a distance.

  • Very nice to look at, but sadly you cannot enter. I looked up why and apparently the president resides there but I'm not sure about that. Only on special occasions it is open for the public eye which is why I give three stars. Also it is very sad that one side of the castle isn't being cared for whatsoever.

  • I guess it's only open once a year, and I wasn't there on that day, so I just had to walk around it and look it from different angles. It kind of made me feel like I was casing the place for a future job. I wasn't though, so...no need to report me to INTERPOL.
