This is the third most affluent area in Rio de Janeiro. Lying in close proximity to Leblon, Ipanema and Copacabana, this area is extremely expensive to live in.
The name of this residential area is derived from its elliptical shape bordering a lagoon of sorts. Visitors who do not have to worry about their budgets can have a luxurious time in one of the many resorts that are scattered in the vicinity. This is also one of the only areas in the city that is bereft of a favela. The affluence of the area is very apparent and if you want to have a taste of the life of the rich and famous in Brazil you can pay this a visit.
- Cost depends on rooms and days.
- Copacabana station
- Don Pascual – Brazilian, Spanish
