Riobamba has a constant temperature throughout the year, with very few variations in the mercury scale. Rainfall is seasonal and is used to differentiate amongst the seasons. The average annual temperature is a very cool 14 – 15 degree Celsius.
Rainy Season: The months of October to April receive a lot of precipitation in the form of constant rainfall. The temperature is constant, though may fluctuate by a few degrees at times.
Dry Season: Though not really dry, May to September receive lesser rainfall than the rest of the year. Temperatures may usually be a few degrees cooler at times, but stick to the average temperature generally.
There is no fixed best time to visit Riobamba. The destination can be visited anytime of the year. Dry season is usually preferred over the other months, but this is peak season, so lots of tourists are to be expected. Also occasional rainfall in the dry period can still play spoilsport at times.
