Hillside Shooting Range Reviews & Ratings
This place has it all for hunters and shooters novice to expert level marksmen / women. Love to see the ladies exercising their rights as American citizens. They offer training classes, gunsmithing, indoor and outdoor target ranges, Trap and Skeet shooting, Hunting, a gun shop an archery shop and shooting lane for compound and compound crossbows. A Highly trained friendly staff to help with all these offerings. You really can't go wrong here.
First outdoor range I've been to. Now I go all the time. Great staff and facility. Keep up the great work.
Fantastic spot for making sure your firearms are gonna hit paper, they have a 50m, 100m, & 200m public lines, and up to 1,000m if you become a member of thier club
Great first time experience the guys working there were a big help
This range is one of the few in Indiana that goes up to 1,000 yards but it's reserved for members only. Visitors can shoot up to 300 yards, I believe. The pistol area is equipped with metal targets so it's a bit more fun than just shooting at paper. The indoor range is one of the nicest ranges I have ever seen and they allow rifles as long as they shoot pistol cartridges. I deducted one star because their rifle range is poorly equipped. The cement shooting tables are too rough to lay anything down on, and if you don't bring something for your elbows you will feel sorry after the first few minutes of shooting. There is no overhead covering so the sun can be an issue at times. As for the seating you have two choices: a concrete block or a wooden stump. Neither will sit flat. It's a very basic setup. However, after a few bad experiences at Camp Atterbury, I've been recommending Hillside to everyone I know. I hope over time it continues to improve.
