This is apparently the first distillery in the city since Prohibition. The name of the distillery comes from the young proprietor’s grandfather, who used to work at Shantz and Associates, a WWI era button manufacturer. Using locally made grain and cider, the distillery capitalised on local patriotism. Appropriately, the city quite appreciates it, and the craft whiskey distilled here has received rave reviews. Visit the tasting room to try out their various spirits. They even have craft bourbon cream now. Several of their spirits have already won awards. Better yet, come for a guided tour of the distillery, held on Fridays and Saturdays. The guide is highly engaging.

Black Button Distilling Reviews & Ratings

  • Great place! I threw a suprise party for my in-laws anniversary here and it was amazing. The drinks were delicious. The staff is very friendly and accomdating. Everyone had an great time

  • Excellent tour guides - highly recommended for the price. Their bourbon cream is incredible - this is a must try! I'm not a huge gin/bourbon fan, so I can't say much about their other drinks. They say their gin is better for new gin drinkers.

  • For a small distillery this was awesome! Got to see the entire distilling process. The tour guide was a amazing and the sampling was fun. The bar and cocktails were on point! I definitely will come back. My Collaboration whiskey is one of my go to whiskeys.

  • Friendly staff, delicious whiskey, and great decor. A must visit! 🔥

  • I highly recommend this distillery. I bought a Groupon for Sunday Funday as I’m in town for the weekend from Virginia. I love supporting local craft breweries and distilleries anywhere I travel. We started with their tasting flight of 5 spirits. My favorite was the Bourbon Whiskey - which is perfect to sip on, especially if sitting around a fire! The Bespoke Bourbon Cream was also awesome if you want something comparable, but better than Bailey’s. I’d love to mix that into coffee! The bartenders, Evan and Jeff, were super friendly and welcoming! Next, you get two speciality cocktails. The bartender, Jeff, had great signature cocktail recommendations. I had a drink made with their Lilac Gin, which was super tasty and refreshing. It’s a mix between the Lilac Bee’s Knees and a Gin Mule. Get it! You won’t be disappointed. I’ll definitely be back!
