Spread over 15 acres, this excellent zoo is home to about 90 species of animals. Opened in 1894, it’s quite old. Most of the animals here are from the planet’s temperature and polar regions - penguins, sea lions, cranes and lynx. They have large water tanks too, and you can view the more amphibious animals, including the polar bears, swimming through the the glass walls of the tanks. Visit the park’s website if you want to check out their catalogue of animals. The zoo also conducts research, conservation and educational activities, and visitors and welcome to involve themselves. There are events organised throughout the year. It’s nothing special if you’re an adult going alone, but it’s absolute delight of a place if you’re taking kids along.

Seneca Park Zoo Reviews & Ratings
Me and my family are members here and we absolutely love it. The kids love the animals and being able to learn and see them. We like that its a cheap place to bring the kids that is always a little bit different. If you have kids I would definitely recommend getting a membership.
This was a small zoo but with cool animals like rhinos giraffes and elephants. I didn't see the polar bear but they had awesome exhibits for polar bear and sea lion. They also had a cool lion exhibit but I saw no lion. Was a fun walk through.
I went here to help my friend on an eagle project, and the staff were so friendly! We were installing a new perch for the snow leopards and the staff were happy to help move certain large pieces. Even in the rain I had an awesome time!
The zoo is undergoing a lot of changes so I understand why there are fewer animals and exhibits right now. I wasn't fond of the huge playground by the entrance. I didn't need to pay $48 for me and my 4 grandchildren to play on a playground, when there is a free one like it in Highland Park near my home. I have been to the zoo 3 times since the Red Panda exhibit was completed. I still haven't seen it. It should be more visible. There were 4-5 animals that weren't being shown today because their exhibits were being maintained. Maybe they should only maintain one at a time so we can see more animals at the zoo. After all, isn't that why we go to the zoo? Overall, there was a lot of walking to see too few animals. On a positive note: the giraffes and zebras were nice to see. The tram at the end of the zoo that takes you to the front of the zoo was a very welcome sight after all the walking.
I love our zoo! Such a great deal for a membership and they're always working on making improvements. We had a blast today watching the cute sea lions and see the baby snow leopard.

is there camping near by for our rvAnswer Report Abuse
As far as I know, there aren't any RV camping sites around. But, you can check Twilight on the Erie RV Resort. Even if it is half an hour away from the zoo, it is one of the popular camping sites near Rochester.Report Abuse
