This is a rather unusual mall. It was originally or shopping complex that was converted into a mall in 1981. But it doesn’t host any of the big chain staples. Rather, it’s home to a series interesting independent shops (mostly mom-and-pop stores) selling books and clothes, eateries, offices, and even homes. There’s a cute courtyard inside. On the upper floors, you’ll find some art and music studios. Close the the mall, look for the Legal Wall, a large surface on which the proprietor has granted permission for street graffiti. The mall has long been viewed as a rather bohemian addition to the city, and changes to its makeup in recent years have been met with disapproval. Weddings are sometimes held in the atrium here.

Village Gate Reviews & Ratings
Just got to know this place, being new in town and all, and I love this place. A bit of everything. Food. Drinks. Art. Shops. Barbers... Very cool place to hang out.
Love Village Gate. There is plenty of parking as well as for the handicapped. Elevator to get those with stair difficulties to the second floor as well as bathrooms for the public on the first floor. A variety of shops that cater to those with their own drummer, bake/tea shops with homemade items. A variety of places with very good food as well as places to sit and look at the art throughout the building. Worth at least one visit, but bet you go back for more. Make sure to stop.into Mythic Treasures grab a reading from Belinda, Gabriel, have a chat with Alex. Need to find something? Jessica is your girl.

So many amazing restaurants and creative shops here. Community acupuncture is amazing. A vibrant hub of life!
We lived in Village Gate for 2 years and absolutely loved it. We loved being close to the Memorial Art Gallery, countless restaurants and shops, and the public market. Living in NOTA was fabulous as there is so much going on and a diverse community that supports one another. The apartment itself was a beautiful one bedroom that had an industrial loft vibe with big windows that let in lots of sun. The entire management team was super helpful and responsive during our time there. I would (and have) recommended Village Gate as a great place to live.
