Kershaw Gardens - Review

Pretty! That’s enough to describe the Kershaw Gardens, and it’s a bit ironic considering that it’s built on an old landfill. Open 24 hours a day, the neat gardens, the clever water arrangements and the quiet contemplative areas offer the people of a Rockhampton a quiet and getaway. You’ll often find families picnicking here. The locals often use the grounds for weddings. Check out the beautiful waterfall, the flower garden, the playground and the excellent walking tracks.

  • Excellent family fun for all ages. A little bit busy since the grand opening. Good to visit first thing in the morning on the weekend. A very relaxing stroll in the park surrounds is nice to enjoy.

  • The new improvements to Kershaw Gardens are amazing. We had not seen the gardens for over 8 years, and to say that then they were okay, was being polite. Now, if you are a family they are wonderful. The playground, Waterpark and BBQ/picnic facilities are amazing. Not really all that suitable for me at 57 but I am young enough to see the fun and potential. Congratulations to Rockhampton for this splendid public facility.

  • A top park to bring the whole family, there is so much to do. Kids love it would stay all day if you let them. Plenty of under cover eating areas, even a water park for the kids to cool off in on those hot days, all new, still a work in progress.

  • This had to be my young son's favourite place to go during our trip to Rockhampton. This new massive out door playground here was incredible. Massive climbing structures, water play area, mini monorail and multiple playground areas. A must go for any family to check out

  • Great overnight camping spot, if you get there early enough! Came in at around 4:30pm and managed to squeeze in between other vans. A courtesy would be for everyone to park closer to each other so more people could enjoy in. Little noisy but definitely worth it. Although it has no amenities it is so close to service stations, fast food restaurants etc. We had dinner and shower in van then took kids to hungry jacks playground for an ice cream and play and they loved it!
