Kershaw Gardens - Review

Pretty! That’s enough to describe the Kershaw Gardens, and it’s a bit ironic considering that it’s built on an old landfill. Open 24 hours a day, the neat gardens, the clever water arrangements and the quiet contemplative areas offer the people of a Rockhampton a quiet and getaway. You’ll often find families picnicking here. The locals often use the grounds for weddings. Check out the beautiful waterfall, the flower garden, the playground and the excellent walking tracks.

  • Great overnight camping spot, if you get there early enough! Came in at around 4:30pm and managed to squeeze in between other vans. A courtesy would be for everyone to park closer to each other so more people could enjoy in. Little noisy but definitely worth it. Although it has no amenities it is so close to service stations, fast food restaurants etc. We had dinner and shower in van then took kids to hungry jacks playground for an ice cream and play and they loved it!

  • Had a "VIP private visit" at this garden. So amazing! For being in the middle of construction, it is a well put together place. Being ignorant patrons, we didn't realize that the garden was closed for construction until after our visit 😅 Can't wait for a more formal visit lol

  • It's a lovely gardens with something for everyone. At the moment the council is doing the gardens up with what i understand to be a water park. It's also a great place to have a picnic, park your van for the night because the shopping centres are over the road.

  • I'd love to love this. But at the moment half of it is closed and I have been told it has been for a very long time. When it gets fixed it'll be great, but right now it is just a nice field with little else going for it (you can't even get to both of the pokemon gyms)

  • It's constructed and only beautiful from one side, but it's soooo beautiful! The lake is next to a highway, so it's quite loud, but the park is huge and you will find a nice shady place there.
