Mount Archer National Park - Review
The mountain looms over Rockhampton like a protective guardian. Bushwalking and rock-climbing aside, Mount Archer is an excellent family getaway. You get tremendous views of Rockhampton, the Capricorn Coast and the sunset from the summit (which isn’t so hard to reach). There are some excellent picnic and BBQ facilities that are quite popular with the locals, so you might want to try those out. Of the wildlife to run across here, the most prominent is the cockatoo. If you’re feeling hardy, you can even walk 11 kms from Fraser Park (near the mountain) to German Street. At any rate, going to and fro along the road to the mount is wonderful enough for its peaceful views.

Mount Archer National Park, Rockhampton Reviews
Only a short walk with great view. Plenty of wildlife to see - Kookaburras and wallabies. Great at sunset. Cool escape from the heat of Rockhampton. Proper made gravel path.
The new walkway is really good. You can see quite a bit now that they've removed a few trees and branches. Some parts were still being worked on when I was there
The area was clean. Loved the view. The only problem was the toilets which were no that clean. I definitely recommend it.
The natural environment is out of this world but the infrastructure is very old fashioned and in need of an urgent upgrade. However was lovely to see the tree top walk well underway.
An awesome place to walk and unwind. You can walk for an hour or 8 the choice is yours.
