About Rockhampton Heritage Village Information Centre, Rockhampton

Life in Rockhampton between 1850's to the 1950s is colourfully reconstructed and put on display here for those who would ask. Check out the Hall of Clocks, the vintage cars scattered about the place, the lumber camp, the fire station, the blacksmiths and the various dwellings, all of which are given some extra charm by the wandering farm animals. If you can, try and visit during the Market Weekends, which is held every two months; the place really comes alive then, with over 500 stalls serving all kinds of food and drink. Children especially tend to love the place; free pony rides don't come by everyday.

Rockhampton Heritage Village Information Centre, Rockhampton Reviews

  • Would have loved to write a proper review however we arrived at the historical village at 2:59 knowing full well that they did not allow entry an hour before closing. We asked for tickets at the counter and were rudely told they do not allow entry after three. We thought they were joking, as the large clock behind the counter was dead on three o'clock. They were not.

  • A nice step back in time. Old houses and sheds brought back to life. Walk through allowed.

  • Multicultural Day ...go Papua New Guinea stall your food was so yummy and the staff were the happiest people

  • Such a great attraction! Love visiting their with my elderly parents because of all the old family stories it prompts. I could easily go there once a week and not get bored with it.

  • Great place to take the grandkids. Lots of things to do and look at everywhere! i loved the dollhouse - so unique and so many special dolls!. We even got driven around an old Ford - definitly going back!
