The Museum of the Holy Souls in Purgatory, located in Chiesa del Sacro Cuore in Prati, Lungotevere Prati is one of the strangest churches cum museums you will encounter in your trip to Rome. The church authorities state that the existence of this particular church proves the existence of ‘Purgatory’, the place between heaven and hell where souls can get trapped.

There are numerous books and other artifacts in the museum that have burnt impressions of fingerprints and hands that are supposedly a result of the lost souls trapped in purgatory. People who have a fascination towards the occult will surely enjoy this museum.
