This church is also known as Santa Maria della Concezione dei Cappuccini which roughly translates to Our Lady of the Conception of the Capuchins. Located at Via Veneto, this church was commissioned by Pope Urban VIII in 1626.
Being a centre for the Capuchin friars, the most famous attraction which this church is known for is the crypt located underneath the main church building. This crypt has gained a lot of attention for the thousands of remains of the Capuchin friars it houses.
Even today, there are over four thousand friars buried in the crypt and people from all over the world who visit Rome, make it a point to visit this historic location. The crypt, separated into five different chapels, is much adorned. But, the striking point is that the decorations are intricately designed with human skeletal pieces and is only illuminated by natural light and fluorescent light coming in cracks and crevices. For those who love all things macabre, this is a playground.

Great little place just on via Veneto. It’s a shame that the place became so expensive (8.5 Euro) for such a tiny place (considering the entry just by offer until few years ago). However if you are into bones this a an amazing spot to visit.
Well worth the ticket price! You have to see it, to feel the chill down your spine, the absolute madness of the decorator working with human bones. No photos allowed.
Not photos allowed inside. Go in the evening for a better experience.
No photos coz this is religious site, supposedly but the they have no problem making money from thousands of disturbed graves. The hypocrisy of the church knows no bounds. It's creepy
The most insane thing you'll ever see! Worth the admission (about 8 euros) just for the final corridor/Crypt which houses a collection of bones from 3700 Cappucini, organised and displayed as pieces of art/furniture. Truly incredible/unsettling to be so close to so much death (especially with no glass! - mind your head!)
