A modest church, Santa Maria della Vittoria is known for its extraordinary art work attributed to Bernini. The church features profligate and sexually charge Santa Teresa trafitta dall’amore di Dio which is also known as Ecstasy of Saint Teresa. This bold sculpture depicts Teresa surrounded with folds of a clock floating in ecstasy on a cloud as a teasing angel pierces with her a golden arrow.

This audacious sculpture can be observed from either of the two balconies and is one of the most discussed sculptures of Rome.
