  • A lovely peaceful home for over a hundred cats with a devoted staff pandering to their needs. Or maybe it is the cats pandering to the needs of the staff.... Either way it is a lovely tranquil place set in the heart of one of the most beautiful cities of the world. A lovely place to visit and maybe leave a small donation to help their work.

  • The best place I’ve ever been to! Walking past we saw eight cats lying there happily in the shade and decided to visit them the next day.....little did we know it was an entire sanctuary! Cats of all shapes and sizes and backgrounds have been rescued from the streets and are living in their happy enclosures! They have toys and cat towers and are extremely happy despite their disabilities. Some which required surgery have been saved by these wonderful people. They really love cats and all purchases go towards looking after the cats. The cats are neutered and spayed and are just AMAZING!

  • If you plan on cat-watching in Largo di Torre Argentina (the square is famous for the cats roaming the ruins) the sanctuary is well worth a visit. You will be greeted with cats everywhere as far as the eye can see. The friendly volunteer staff will be happy to tell you about their work saving and spaying the abandoned cats of Rome and you can purchase trinkets in support of their work. If you wish to go closer to the animals in the shelter consider making a small donation to their cause. And there's always the option of adopting one of the cats!

  • If you have come to visit this place then look out for the cat sanctuary hidden under the bridge as it houses 149 cats that have been rescued. Beautiful work they do on a voluntary basis.

  • It was lovely to visit the Cat Sanctuary and see the volunteers caring for the cats of Rome. We received a friendly welcome and were told about the work they do there. Neutering, rehoming, nursing cats with disabilities... If you're in Rome and you have a soft spot for felines, stop by!
