Trevi Fountain - Review
Calling this monumental fountain the most famous in the world would certainly not be an exaggeration. This fountain is possibly one of the most recognizable examples of Baroque architecture in Italy and is certainly the largest Baroque fountain in Rome. Numerous artists, sculptors and architects had worked on the fountain and the end result was an eighty six feet high and one hundred and sixty one feet wide gargantuan monument.
Plan a trip to Rome to witness an unsusal culture followed here. Popular culture has it that if people throw a coin in the fountain, then they’ll return to Rome again in this life. For this reason, an approximate three thousand Euros have been deposited in the fountain daily.
Signifying the Baroque architecture is one of the most spectacular ways, the Trevi Fountain is a tourist’s favorite in Rome. It is nice place to visit, amazing. The best fountain in Rome, Italy. There are lot of visitors to enjoy the beautiful scenes at day and night times. For photography best time is just before sun set. If you want amazing experience in Rome then it is one of them to go there. It is very near to other major attractions and free to visit. There are lot of stories attached with this nice place.
I love the sound of water, oceans, rivers, rain, fountains. So when I came upon this very busy fountain in the middle of Rome with another thousand tourists it felt different. It felt calming. Make sure you walk to the right of the sculpture. No one goes there. It becomes your own little sanctuary where you can enjoy the sights and sounds of the beautiful sculpture.
They say that if you throw a coin in the fountain over your head with your back facing it, it guarantees that you will be able to go back to Rome. Whether be it for real or not it catches a lot of attention because of it's amazing structure and the fountain itself. This fountain is also very well known since it has been featured in a movie. Most of the day there's a crowd surrounding the area so always be aware of your belongings. The local guide said that if you'd like to enjoy it with lesser people then better come very early in the morning or late at night.
Busy attraction not matter then time of day. Wife and I went during our recent trip to Rome and got some great night time photos. Make sure you throw a coin with right hand over your left shoulder and supposedly it means you'll one day return to Rome! Word of advise: watch out for sketchy street vendors and shady types who offer take a photo for you, they will mostly likely hound you for money for doing so. Otherwise, another get place to see in Rome.
Trevi Fountain is one of those places that just never gets old. We go there every time we are in Rome and the kids love it as well. Look past the crowds (or get there early) and enjoy the beauty, ambiance and experience that is Trevi! It’s amazing that something only a few hundred years old can still stand out in a place like Rome!
