Vecchia Roma - Review

This restaurant is quite well known in Rome, and not because of the reasons you think. This is not one of the tourist traps that are littered in abundance in the city.

Vecchia Roma is one of the most popular haunts for locals in the city and can provide a welcome break from the monotony of the other eateries in the vicinity. The food that is served here is made from the freshest ingredients and the chefs make it a point to provide nothing but the most authentic Italian dishes and the most delightfully inventive desserts. Do make sure to have a wonderful Sunday lunch in this restaurant.

  • We were only in Rome 4 nights and went here twice, me and my friends loved it! Everything was delicious, and the atmosphere was very welcoming and the staff did their best to accommodate us even though we didn't have a reservation. If you get the chance in Rome to go here reserve a table though it gets busy since its so popular!

  • Hidden gem with amazing food and great house wine! My girlfriend and I were in Rome for 4 days/nights and we stayed at the Domus Helena hotel a block away from here. The first night after we arrived, we stumbled upon this place and were lucky enough to get a table. Everything looked and smelled amazing so deciding what to eat was not easy. We eventually made our decisions and we were both blown away by how good the food was. We ended up coming back 2 more times during our stay because there were so many other menu items we wanted to try and we figured it would be hard to beat food so good for such a great price. Highly recommended!! Make sure you have a reservation or show up early enough to get in line and hope they can find a place for you

  • Very nice food for a reasonable price, lovely restaurant but some tables are very close to the next. Staff are very friendly but some have poor English. I’d recommend to a friend visiting Rome.

  • We read this place has good reviews, but it went beyond our expectation. From the wine to the pastas the only regret I have is not ordering the pizza. Will try to come back before leaving Rome. This place has been open for a 100+ years #crazy

  • Really great place, nice and cool in the evenings due to being in a basement. Great food, great service, happy customers. This place filed up fast so book in advance our get here early to avoid disappointment.
