Built in 2nd century by brother Sextus Quintilius Maximus and Sextus Quintilius Condianus, the Villa of the Quintilii is located just outside the boundary of Rome.
The Villa’s huge grounds where confused for a town when excavated. The villa had its own bath with an aqueduct line and a lot of beautiful marble sculptures were found here which were sold to various people over time.
Today, the Villa is a museum which takes you back to 2nd century and beyond and offers an exquisite time of Roman history along with its beautiful architecture and sculptures.
The panoramic view seen from here is known for influencing many great artists as well.
