Dating back to the Moorish era, the La Casa Del Rey Moro is a water mine built by Ronda’s King Abomelic at the beginning of the 14th century, for preventing the water supplies during water wars. There was a very popular rumour that the mine has huge amount of gold in its underground chambers, but no concrete evidence was found till date. When you tour the mine, you’ll explore the steps being carved out from the rock which will lead you to the fortress. An amalgamation of Islamic engineering and great elements from Spain, the fortress has walls which prevent sound travelling! Quite an interesting attraction to visit!
