Rottnest Island is famous for its many bays; this may be the most popular of them. It’s on the island’s north side, about three kilometres from Thompson’s Bay. The crystalline waters are shallow and calm, making this a great place to swim. It’s surrounded by rather jagged looking rocks though, that just adds to the beauty of the bay. It’s sheltered from the breeze by a high sand dune. If you can find some one to take a boat out into the water (ask at the Visitor Centre), then you can even snorkel at the reefs further out into the ocean.

  • There’s a car park over looking the beach with about 10 spaces.

  • You’ll have to drive, walk or cycle to here. Ask at the visitor centre of the hop-on-hop off bus stops by here.
