Located about 6.5 kilometres south-east of Rovinj, Monkodonja is a beautiful hill fort that was occupied during the 1800–1200 BC during the Bronze Age. Here the visitors can take a look at a town that was built with blocks of stone using a dry technique as well as the side terraces that are built using quarried stones. This city is surrounded by stone walls. This site was discovered in 1953 by B. Baćić and B. Marušić and has since then been a site of research as well.
