Old Sacramento Reviews & Ratings
All fans of the old west should enjoy this original part of Sacramento. Nicely ADA modded recently... There are ramps to many of the wooden plank sidewalks. The train museum here is fantastic if you haven't been. The pubs, restaurants, and gift shops make this a fun place. Parking garages, local buses or Amtrak station make it easy to get there.
Came on a Saturday, and it was bustling far more than I was expecting. I hadn't been here for years, and it's a popular tourist spot. The sidewalks are wide and easy to walk, there's a wide variety of shops to explore, and the whole "Gold Rush" vibe is present throughout. Sample some free taffy from the many candy shops, stroll through the streets, and enjoy a couple of hours by the waterfront.
Wonderful to visit the state capital for an amazing DMB concert at the Golden 1 Center!!! Then a day in old Town learning about the history of the area, admiring the historic architecture, visiting the museum there and walking the original cobbled streets was truly fascinating. Tons of great food choices as well! Bars, pubs and restaurants galore. Enjoy this beautiful historic city.
Beautiful walk at sunset. The history is cool. The people I ran into were friendly. If you get close enough to the Old Sac area there's even some swings for the kiddos. There are quite a few homeless people but they didn't bother me or anyone else that I saw. Where I saw beauty they saw a safe clean place to sleep.
My family and I absolutely love coming here. It’s a great place to walk with your family and your fur babies as well. A lot of stores and food and an occasional classic car cruising down the streets. The stores are Reasonably priced as well. On 9/22/19 we visited and the only annoyance we experienced during our visit was the man standing with his religion signs and microphone stating “NO ONE IS GOOD ENOUGH TO GO TO HEAVEN” it was truly disturbing that my children had to witness that and honestly a lot of people were pretty annoyed by him as well as asked him to be quiet, we even seen him getting flipped off. There is a time and a place to preach the lord in a respectful manner.. not everyone believes in his religion.. as I told my kids... “To each their own” but this guy should NOT be on the streets disturbing consumers nor businesses. Other than that and if this guy is not around this place is a great place to go!
