Though not as stunningly pretty as the other beaches and inlets on the granite coast, this beach in Plerin is loved for three reasons. First, it is 2km long, and so it never had a chance to get crowded. Second, its sand is fine, and very nice to walk on. There is a swimming area, watched over by a lifeguard. And thirdly, because it’s close.
It really bursts into life in the summer though. The kids get beach clubs, the grown-ups arrange for sailing lessons. The footpaths fill up with cyclists, joggers and dog-walkers. Riding stables, paragliding outlets and mountain bike rentals all make a killing at this time.
Nearby, there’s a camping area, where you can park you trailer vans.
A little way from the beach is a headland, the Pointe de la Bechue, up on high cliffs. From here you can look over the Rosaires Beach and the beaches of Tournemine.
