Even if you don’t mean to, chances are that you are going to pass the Palace Bridge atleast once during your visit. This imposing bridge is a 20th century creation but just as beautiful as some other heritage monuments in St. Petersburg. Overlooking the Hermitage museum and Winter Palace, the bridge affords magnificent views of the surroundings. Even more romantic is the opening up of the bridge over the blissful Neva River that happens late at the night. Designed by then amateur architect  Andrey Pshensitsky, the bridge is one of the most spectacular things to see on a white night.
