Although this public garden was in a state of disrepair in the recent past, the scenario is rapidly changing today. One can see hundreds of people gathering to the park on weekends and it is in present times one of the best places to take the children for a fun filled day.
Originally laid down as a tribute to Grigory Potemkin who was the advisor and lover of Catherine the Great, the park boasts of informal landscaping, ponds and plenty of woodlands for people to enjoy the natural surroundings.
There is also a skating rink, carousels, sledding slopes for use in the winter and other attractions.

Beautiful park. Visited Saturday evening. Lots of families. Fabulous folliage on the trees. Would love to visit in summer. Very clean.
This is really a good park for recreation. Has a big pond for beauty cos you can't swim here. Relatively long walking parcure with lots of trees all around. Not so silent unless you are not in the middle zone, due to adjacent traffic on two sides of park. Kids play area and sport options are adding plus. Wish all a really pleasant time in the park.
A huge clean park with some rivers and lakes. Good for the runs.
one of the best parks in st. petersburg. you can walk on beautiful paths ornated by giant trees and cross bridges over channels and small streams all around the park. a big lake is present on the north side of the park and you can sit over theatre like steps and feed pigeons and ducks who will come to you asking for food. there is a sport center in the south side with tennis and soccer courts. neva river banks are just one step away. it is definitely worth visiting!!!
Nice place to hang out. Lots of benches to sit on. Public facilities are there, close to the center.
