The Catherine Palace - Review
This palace located in the south eastern part of Saint Petersburg used to serve as the summer home for the Tsars. A flamboyant and elaborate monument to the affluence of the Russian Crown, this palace is a shining example of the Rococo style of architecture.
Catherine I of Russia commissioned the building in 1717, after which it has been renovated and remodeled several times. The exterior of the castle had intricate decorations in gold which added to the majestic quality of this imposing structure.
The frescoes, paintings and statues that are stored in the palace are truly one of a kind and must be included in the itinerary for all tourists to the city of Saint Petersburg.

The Catherine Palace, Saint Petersburg Reviews
Catherine palace features amazing gardens and walks in a luxurious environment that will make everyone feel like a royal! I loved my time there and found some inner peace in seeing how Peter the great made such a good work on mixing nature and the palaces for his wife Catherine the first. Entrance includes only the gardens. There are other museums and exhibits that you can pay to see.
It's one of the most beautiful palaces in Russia. A very nice place to spend some quality time. To put a cherry on top it has a lake also by the banks of which you feel total peace. We loved the place
Absolutely beautiful. Great way to get a feel for the people and time periods. Very well preserved and restored. Some areas are not accessible with wheelchairs, however, the most important rooms can be seem. Access to the building with a wheelchair is tricky; the side of the building we entered (for tours) doesn't have a ramp. Fortunately our wheelchair member could handle the 10 stairs into the building and once inside there are elevators, but keep this accessibility in mind when planning your trip.
WOW what a stunning palace make sure you take the time to absorb the beauty but once inside you are rushed through each room because the line is long so set your camera on automatic and hope for the best. The grounds are beautiful and worth taking the time to enjoy.
Very very romantic place, young or old people in love or want to rekindle their love should go to this place for walks around the place. It's surroundings are really lush green and serene. The lake is beautiful, the palace is unique and ever inspiring of russian architecture
