Essex Street Pedestrian Mall Reviews & Ratings
Love this place. It's great to visit every stay in the area. Some shops are quaint but there are also great specialty shops like The Silversmith Shop.
Fun. Nice shops inside and outside. Great place to browse.
Nice place off season
Local here. The pedestrian mall used to be a major tourist trap but it's really gotten so much better the past few years! Some can't miss shops here for tourists and locals alike. Coons, Count Orloks, Wicked Good Books, Covens Cottage, Village Silversmith, Silver Moon Comics. Often filled with great street performers summer thru Halloween including Salem's Black Hat Society, Nosferatu, Frankenstein, and daily performances of Cry Innocent. Just watch out for the cobblestone sidewalks! And don't use the bathrooms in Museum Place Mall unless it's an absolute emergency!
Beautiful architecture, unique little niche shops, friendly people and great food well worth a especially around Halloween.
