Fall (October - November): With the arrival of the fall season, the temperature tends to drop down and it gets relatively pleasant. The temperature is around 17 degrees Celsius for the month of October and drops down to about 13 degrees Celsius for the month of November. The fall season also experiences a lot of rainfall, with November being the wettest month with an average rainfall of about 135mm.
Winters (December - February): Winter season is when most of the rainfall takes place. January is the coldest month and the average temperature is about 8 to 10 degrees Celsius. The average annual rainfall is about 40 inches. The strong wind that comes from the mountains toward the Gulf of Salerno makes the city very windy.
Spring (March - April): The arrival of spring brings the city back to life with the continuous whispers from the sounds of nature. One can hear the woodpeckers working away, the beavers swimming around looking for a new home, the owls hooting in driftwood bay and the nightly sounds of our lake loons, along with the buzz of the black flies. The warm weather is perfect to enjoy the first swim of the season. The temperature remains cool, fluctuating between 11 to 14 degrees Celsius with possibilities of light rainfall.
The best time to visit Salerno is during the months of June to September. The weather is pleasant, the possibilities of rainfall are less and the arrival of summer embarks the opening up of a plethora of activities one can indulge into and get a complete experience of this Italian city.
