I was pleasantly surprised at how nice it was. Park outside and walk in free. Very nice older woman at the booth answered questions for me.Nice to see someone different than the steriotypical worker here on the central coast - 20 somethings.Hiked up Wild cat Canyon, beautiful even in late Nov.
Somewhat picturesque, mostly flat though in the main part, but green lush grass, with huge sculptural oak shade trees and a few picnic benches. The best part though are the trails up the mountainous hills. Moderate climbing but worth the views and quick change in terrain
Ran here on Saturday and weather was absolutely gorgeous. Lots of good memories made here that day.
Big park with plenty of open space for picnics. If you are planning to have an event there, check with park services in advance to make a reservation or else risk not finding an open picnic area. Also if worried, I suggest making sure no large events are scheduled for the planned date.
One of the best places to camp overnight, best sky's on Monterey co.
