The Big Cottonwood Canyon is a beautiful 15 mile drive that is full of great opportunities for hiking, fishing, trekking, rock climbing and even has serene spots for picnics. This area was once a mining field around the mid 1800s and visitors can still see many open mines on this stretch. From Brighton there are several easy trails leading to various picturesque lakes, including Twin Lakes, Lake Mary, Lake Martha, and Dog Lake. The trails differ in difficulty but reveal the most jaw dropping panaromas. The Big Cottonwood Canyon makes for a refreshing break from the vapid city life.

  • Had our wedding at storm mountain amphitheater 3 weeks ago. I can’t say enough great things about it! It is a beautiful place with fantastic views and background for wedding photos. The camp-hosts were very helpful! They blocked off our parking for our guests ahead of time and gave us parking pass’s to hand out for our guests which worked out real well. 15 pass’s were provided and we were able to purchase more to accommodate our other 10 guests at a minimal price. Thank you Storm mountain for helping us make our special day PERFECT!

  • Beautiful drive, many hiking areas, lovely aspens and pines, nice ski resort. Loved our drive through!

  • I was so lost and missed my friends wedding a disappointment it self

  • Beautiful canyon with beautiful views, hikes, and climbs. Great for a quick hike and getaway from the city.

  • Gorgeous. Absolutely breathtaking.
