Mozart Dinner Concerts - Review
Allow yourself to be transported back to an age of sumptuous beauty and marvelous music. The Mozart Dinner Concerts are a novel experience, where you are treated to a delicious multi course meal cooked in the style of that era, accompanied by some of Mozart’s most masterful compositions.
In 1789, Mozart first performed his famous piece Mass in C minor in the church of St. Peter to acclaim, with his wife singing as one of the sopranos. This is the environment that will engulf you at one of these concerts. An evening by candle light in the baroque hall, as your ears are treated to symphonies played by the Amadeus Consort Ensemble, dressed in historic clothing. You’ll feel like an aristocrat, in the 1790’s, being treated to fine dining, wine and music.
The beautiful Baroque Hall is part of St. Peter’s, famous all over for being the oldest restaurant in Europe, from way back in 803! The Mozart family used to dine in this restaurant. The singers and musicians of the ensemble will perform pieces from ‘Don Giovanni’, ‘Le Nozze di Figaro’ and the extremely famous ‘The Magic Flute’, along with instrumental serenades. The performances are lively and aesthetically pleasing, with dinner served during intervals. The dinner served is a meticulously prepared menu of authentic 18th century dishes. Cream soup with rosemary quark-dumplings, breast of roasted capon on top of portwineglace with potato-pumpkin dumping, semolina strudel and freshly picked vegetables, and finally semi frozen honey parfait. A vegetarian or gluten free meal can be prepared on request. These dinners do not have alcoholic accompaniments.
There’s an ‘exclusive’ package, which includes personal and preferred seating in the first two rows at a reserved table, a welcome cocktail, a program booklet and an extended gourmet menu which consists of an array of pastries, medium rare done fillets and other Salzburg culinary specialties.
The delicious meal will tickle your taste buds and delight your palate, while the music enchants your ears and the beautiful architecture and costumes are a visual treat. The experience is indeed a massage to all your senses, as well as a charming history lesson. The performances are on almost every evening, with different packages.

Mozart Dinner Concerts, Salzburg Reviews
Let's cut to the chase. The Affordable wine is near the back on page 57, I think. Wow. This was the perfect Opera sampler for the novice or experienced Opera lover. Excellent performance all around. Food was excellent. Drink service was TERRIBLE-one star! but everything else was so fantastic it can be overlooked. A very fair value for what you get.
We were in doubt as a young couple (mid 20's) not listening to this kind of music normally, but we took the chance. We were really glad we did it, because it is a truly cultural experience. For 63 euro's we had a great 3 course dinner and a beautiful concert between the courses. We sat with another couple which turn out to be very nice people, so we were lucky with that. The food was extraordinary and very nice. Drinks were very expensive, but all together you had dinner and music for a good price. If you would like to experience some real culture, I would truly recommend it. I think everybody needs to have a little bit of experience with this soort of music where all further music is based on.
What a cool experience! My friend and I had a very good table on the second row, so we were really close to the musicians and singers - it felt almost like some kind of private opera evening : ) . Food was good too and our waiter recommended an Austrian wine - he was nice and fun talking to, told us about the wine tradition they have in Austria. The hall were it took place is really nice, with real candles and much decoration on the wall like they have in those Castles. The price (I think it was 48.- for students) is more than ok, regarding you have TWO things in one, a concert and a 3 course dinner. I definitly would come again.
I enjoyed the performance quite a bit - both the music and food were excellent. Four stars because of a few things - the room was VERY hot when we were there. Our whole table and the performers were sweating the whole time. It is a pricey ticket, which does not include the drinks. I know this is an "American" complaint, but you had to buy a whole bottle if you wanted water, and for a venue that hot they should consider including water. Lastly, the service feels slow because each order is interrupted by the performances, so you can wait up to 15 min for a drink. Overall, I recommend the Mozart dinner as long as you know these things in advance.
Good show. Good food. Awefully hot as there were only two a/c units at end of function hall. They could have rented a few units for few days or weeks rather than have clients drip drench in sweat.
