Built in 1915, this pretty geometric garden got a facelift in 1935 with the addition of two fountains and eight benches. Note the tiles on the fountain - green, yellow and turquoise tiles. There are seven thousand blooming flowers in the garden, including chrysanthemums, pansies, begonias, dahlias and poppies. The garden is modelled after the Alcazar of Seville. The garden is a popular place to get married.

Really 4 1/2 stars. Garden is beautifully arranged, with gorgeous poppies. However, this being mid November, not too many flowers in bloom. Would be magnificent at a more appropriate time of year.
Pretty and peaceful garden in the heart of Balboa park - limited nearby parking, larger parking lot 200 yds away. Well worth a visit !
A lovely, slightly separated place in Balboa Park to read a book all afternoon.
Always a treat. San Diego own ancient gardens
Beautiful garden with various plants during the summer months. Now that winter is approaching the landscape will be changed for winter.
