Dick's Last Resort Tours
About Dick's Last Resort, San Diego
Dick's Last Resort is a small bar and restaurant chain in the United States, known for its intentional employment of an obnoxious staff. The chain consists of seventeen restaurants. The restaurant has its origins in the owners' original opening of a "fine-dining" establishment. The establishment was a failure, which resulted in bankruptcy. Rather than continue with the upscale restaurant motif, the owners retooled their efforts and decided to "go sloppy". The end result was a success, leading to the creation of six additional locations. In 1995, the company attempted to expand to Europe and opened a restaurant in London, but the effort was abandoned and the restaurant was sold in early 1996. Starting in 2016 multiple locations have closed with almost no notice.Wikipedia

You need thick skin and a sense of humor to go to this bar. The servers insult you and write crazy comments on paper hats about you. I've never been to a place like this so it was very different. The margaritas are huge and I was able to take the cup home. The bar itself is nicely set up and has indoor and outdoor seating. Large selection of drinks.
Dick's is super fun. I went there with friends after Comic-Con and I had a great time. The staff is purposely rude, but in a funny way. It was so much fun getting to banter with them. My waiter was dressed like Colonel Sanders. The food was tasty and probably really unhealthy, which perfectly fits with the atmosphere.
I can't stand this stupid business model. My wife has special diet restrictions and they make it so embarrassing and were so rude. The manager was totally useless. I feel the people who work here and enjoy treating people like scum have alot of problems they need to work out. I try to avoid this business anywhere in the U.S. and I recommend anyone else do the same. Why would you want to go to a place that treats you poorly? Plenty of places will accommodate you without overpaying and being insulted. I would give a zero star but I have to give at least 1 star to post.
Male host was extremely rude on 7/29 (yes I understand what type of place it is, however there are lines you don't cross). He kept touching my girlfriend, and was grabbing her and moving her around when we were waiting to be seated out front, even when she asked him to stop. Contact like this is unacceptable.
The drinks were pretty weak but tasty and the waitress we had wasnt interacting much with us. My southwest salad was pretty good but my friends said their food was average. I like the idea behind the place but the waitress we had just wasnt into it i guess. Maybe your experience will be a bit better. You also get to keep all glassware wich is cool.
