Immaculate Conception Catholic Church - Review

This church in Old Town San Diego has been in operation since 1917. It's notable for having one of the two bells of the San Diego Mission. The sermons are as pretty as the church building. Note the lovely stained glass windows. It's not exactly touristy. The atmosphere is tranquil. The ceiling walls are of dark wood.

  • Do not listen to th hate-mongers on this Google site. I have been there many times and it is a beautiful church and completely catholic and orthodox in doctrine. It is not their fault that the bishop of San Diego holds heretical ideas and values contrary to orthodox catholic teachings. News flash people, abortion is not in keeping with Christian or Catholic doctrine held for 2000 years. If you don't like authentic teachings go to your watered-down secular church that is devoid of the real Jesus and Jesus's teachings.

  • A very beautiful church. I wish I had the opportunity to worship here, but sadly, we were there during a time they were closed.

  • Very clean and beautiful church. I was amazed at the architecture and beauty of the stained glass. The grounds of this church are also very beautiful. Seems like it’s open most days.

  • A beautiful church, however they need to have more pride in trying to remove the urine smell on the outside and inside of the church. It was very discusting smelling urine the whole time that my wife was inside praying and lighting candles for loved ones. This church has a high visibility with tourists as it is right across the street from Old Town and this is not a good way for visitors to have an impression of our city.

  • Very neighborly church. We were in town for a basketball tourney so we did not have Sunday clothes but we did not feel judged. The priest was such a great speaker and the congregation was welcoming. We attended the 8:30 am Sunday service
