This large 79 acre park is popular with the locals for the usual reasons - lots of picnic and play space, large green fields, space for kite flying and frisbee throwing. It also offers the additional treasure of great views. On clear days you can see straight into Mexico. The park is named for botanist and landscape artist Kate Sessions, who was one of the designers of Balboa Park in the 19th century. This is one of the few parks in San Diego where the public consumption of alcohol is permitted.
