Mission Beach Boardwalk - Review
Though technically this is part of the the Mission Bay aquatic park, this beach faces the Pacific Ocean rather than the bay. The concrete road is about 3.5 miles long, stretching between North Pacific Beach to South Mission Beach. It is a pedestrian path, though cycles are allowed. There are a lot of shops and eateries alongside the boardwalk. Highlights include:
- Ventura Place
- Belmont Park, with the Giant Dipper Roller Coaster.
- Fishign at South Mission Beach Park.
The beach is commonly used by families. There are volleyball courts, surfers, and scuba divers. It can get really crowded on the weekends.

Mission Beach Boardwalk, San Diego Reviews
I want to say it's one of the best beaches and the world. It has it all. Stores restaurants great people. It has games rides clean bathrooms. Great place for Tourist to visit
Loved it here. Especially at night, it was so calm, so peaceful. Listening to the waves and watching the jets fly over head. During the daytime it was a fun spot to people watch without being overly crowded, just the right amount of people there. I’ll be back
This place is beautiful. The locals are so friendly and courteous to pedestrians, and the shops and eateries are hip. Try taking a BIRD (electric scooter) it's fun and will take you all the way to the other end of the beach in no time!
One of my favorite beaches in ALL of North America. I brought my rollerblades to "kill time" ... Never made it into the water! Too much fun BS'ing with other friendly beach goers and people watching. 👍
Lots of fun stuff to do! Great shops with the usual "San Diego" labeled clothing, hats, bags, coffee mugs, magnets, etc. Belmont Park is right their with games, rides, food, & other attractions. Best part for me was the beach! Such a wonderful time! Want to go back for a longer visit! Bathrooms by the beach are not good. All metal areas are rusted from the salt. Stall doors are too short - approximately 4' high. Found a Very nice & clean bathrooms in a restaurant along the strip. It shares space with a coffee place & the coffee was delicious! It is close to the store, Wings, that has a lot of wonderful souvenirs. The service at the coffee shop & Wings store was very friendly & helpful!
