Mt. Soledad Cross - Review

A giant cross stands as the Soledad Cross in remembrance of the War Veterans of the USA. The memorial consists of veteran plaques which honour each person who has participated in the war on behalf of the US. It also acts as a registry of all the people who have fought in the war. Their names and backgrounds have been proudly displayed at this place.

Interestingly, the Mount Soledad cross has been subject to much controversy over the years. The cross which is a Christian symbol has been objected to by many as being a symbol of religion instead of the brave people which it aims to honour. Nevertheless, it is a very important place that honours bravery, loyalty and courage and you should visit it if you want to take in an atmosphere of tremendous pride for the united states.

  • This is a beautiful place to get some fresh air and enjoy the wonderful 360° views San Diego has to offer! Its a memorial park dedicated to the veterans. This is a good place to relax, take pictures, and to have quality time with friends or loved ones. If you haven't been here please plan to do so!

  • This is such a humbling place. First off, the views of San Diego are unreal. You can see everything from La Jolla to Mission Bay, Downtown to Miramar. Second, the memorial plaques are amazing; unlike any we’ve seen before. Such an amazing way to honour service members and their accolades. Definitely worth a visit to take in the views and pay your respects.

  • This is a great place for reflection. Families can come and make a picnic as they come to pay their respects to our veterans. The astounding view also makes for a great reason to bring your family. As the sun sets, many people flock to take a snippet of the sky. Apart from that, there is a hiking trail connected to it, which can call for an adventure staring at the summit.

  • My entire family & I love Mount Soledad. We try to come out here frequently. It’s such a beautiful place to experience. The views are so beautiful

  • Beautiful views of the ocean during the day. Impressive view of the city lights at night. Free to the public. A must see for out of towners.
