This two story beachfront pub doubles as a brewery. Very popular with the local for its great beers and excellent food, the pub has other appeals. For example, the top floor has some spectacular views of the ocean. And if you don't feel like gazing out, turn your attention to one of the 20 sports TVs. The lively atmosphere in the weekends make that the best time to visit. The service is friendly and fast.

Pacific Beach Alehouse, San Diego Reviews - Write a Review

  • Excellent food. I've tried nearly everything and it's all been absolutely delicious! Great sports pub atmosphere. I highly recommend it! Don't miss the kettle corn brownie dessert.

  • I used to love this place, but the food quality has plummeted. The atmosphere on the roof overlooking the beach is still great. The food leaves something to be desired. It's not horrible, but it used to be so much better.

  • I recently visited San Diego and stayed at an AirBnB close to this restaurant. I ordered the Kale Salad and my friends ordered the Fish and Chips and also the Fish Tacos. The service was speedy, the beer was good, and the food was delicious. We also sat upstairs on the patio, which had great views and was enjoyable on a nice sunny day. I would definitely come back!

  • The Ale House used to be one of my favorite spots while I lived in PB a few years ago. I just went back yesterday. It still has a nice deck with a good view (although the new roof they’ve put looks a little tacky), but it seems like they have a new rule that you cannot stay there more than 45min after your last order... The muscular waitress that took our orders yesterday came nagging us multiple times about whether we would order anything else and pointing out almost angrily that she had left the bill on the table.. What happened with the times when you could enjoy your beer peacefully and choose to only have a beer or two when you have to work the next day or your friend has to drive 45min to her house. And the place was not even full!

  • The beer was underwhelming and the burger was decent. The added bacon was very good. Service was decent. The upstairs outdoor seating area was nice. I would try other spots in PB before going back though.
