The two floors of this Old Town museum take you through the history of law in San Diego going back to 1850. First, see the educational video. Then move on to the exhibits. There is a mock courtroom, a crime scene stage up, police equipment, bomb detection robot, and artefacts from the old days, including revolvers and machine guns and 200 other confiscated weapons. The museum is the love child of Sheriff Kolender.

Sheriff's Museum Reviews & Ratings
Thank you very much for creating an exhibit on the Heaven's Gate Cult. I came all the way from Indiana to see it and it did not disappoint. I also appreciate the friendly staff and the affordable admission price. Job well done on this museum. Highly recommended.
Working in the profession I had to stop in. We made this part of our family vacation. The kids had fun walking through the museum and learning so much. Even trade some swag. Stop by....
Very educational. Any kids interested in law enforcement as a future career will love it. Also great exhibits on some of the famous crimes and events.
Fun and interesting place to visit. Good exhibits and only $5 to go inside.
Amazing experience and in-depth insight into the law enforcement community, and history. I would highly recommend this place to anybody in old Town
