  • The room was very spacious and clean. I only stayed one night and didn't get a chance to use any amenities, so I can't comment on them. The staff was both friendly and helpful. The parking structure was awkward to enter and exit since it forced you up and down a narrow corkscrew path. The location was great. Overall, it was a nice experience, probably more so if you plan on spending a lot of time around the hotel to take advantage of their offerings.

  • Really enjoyed staying here. The rooms were clean and I liked that in our room, it wasn't just a room with a bed, but was basically a one bedroom apartment with a living room and bedroom. The view was gorgeous and shops and such are just a few blocks away. We used their hot tub. When the jets were turned on, it would foam A LOT (too much chlorine?) and their gym was really small.

  • This is a pretty nice hotel. They have cute little suites and the staff is pretty nice. Only problem I have is that one night they told us they were out of towels when we had called for some and I had to call the manager. But Gustavo was wonderful and I really appreciate it.

  • The Declan Suites San Diego is pretty decent for a hotel. The walls are fairly soundproof, the water gets warm quickly, the furniture is pretty nice, and there are two televisions. While there is a pull out couch, it has no bedding. Our room had a suspicious sticky black mark on the floor when we arrived, though, the shower is tiny, and the WiFi is lousy. The bed is pretty good, but the pillows are not great. However, there is a mini fridge of reasonable quality and a microwave. The public transit distance is reasonable (0.5 miles away), and the view is really nice.

  • We stayed at the Declan suites for five days in July. I was not at all impressed by the staff. We had a suite on a corner which made the room smaller. We had five people (three kids). Because there were 5 of us, we needed a couple extra towels. We asked for them the first night, thinking that surely that would be a sign that we needed extra towels for the duration of our stay. The next day we returned to the hotel and had to ask for towels again. We left a note and a tip on the following two days and were given extra towels. But we didn't leave a tip on the fourth day and we didn't get any extra towels. I called the front desk and let the phone ring 20 times. No one answered. I called the concierge and let the phone ring 20 times; no answer. I finally went down to the front desk to see if they were busy checking people in and to request towels. The people working there were all just talking to a couple of guys. They said they would send up towels. Forty-five minutes later no one had brought towels yet and I had to call down an to remind the staff. Our room was not vacuumed during the time we stayed. There was so much dust in the vent in the bathroom that it would fall down on us. The pocket doors had lots of dust bunnies at the top, too. One of the light blocking curtains in the bedroom was missing. The ice machine down the hall was unplugged so we had to go to another floor for ice. The room had a beverage chiller rather than a refrigerator, which seemed like a waste. We've never stayed in a restaurant suite that did not have a refrigerator and we have traveled from coast to coast. The toilet broke and we requested that it be fixed. The man who fixed it provided us with the best service of any of the staff. He fixed the problem and was very nice. My husband had stayed at this hotel before so felt comfortable going back. However, I would not recommend this hotel to friends traveling with their family.
